Application:

A vertical ship lift allows ships to pass through the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze River. The largest ship chamber is 132 meters long, 23 meters wide, has a depth of 3.5 meters, and a capacity of 3,000 tons. The total weight that can be lifted is 34,000 tons, with a lifting height of 113 meters. A driven screw spindle runs in a steel shaft, lifting the enormous weight and providing a secure stop system in exceptional cases. This steel shaft is fixed to the structural concrete with SAS prestressing tendons, which absorb and transfer the extreme loads. The on-site instruction and monitoring during the installation were provided by Stahlwerk Annahütte.

Scope of delivery:

708 Prestressing Tendons, Smooth Bar SAS 950/1050 Ø 36 mm, both ends with rolled special thread; Tendons without bond, complete systems consisting of rods, plates, nuts (special anchor nuts and project-specific corrosion protection caps).
