We assume social responsibility for man and nature.

Sustainability is a primary concern of our company. Stahlwerk Annahütte is located parallel to the Saalach River that forms the border between Germany and Austria and has its own hydroelectric power station.

We rely on hydroelectric energy to satisfy our power demand for production - an important factor in our contribution to environmental preservation.

Our raw materials are supplied for the most part by our sister company Lech-Stahlwerke that produce the steel billets by smelting scrap steel. The production of steel by recycling scrap metal reduces the CO2 emission by 75% as compared to conventional melt furnaces.

All our services are provided continuously, preserving resources as much as possible. As part of this effort, our environmental management system is subjected to annual certification audits. Our company is certified according to the environmental standard DIN EN ISO 14001 and according to the energy management standard DIN EN ISO 50001.

As an official drinking water supplier we have our own drinking water well which supplies not only our company but also the Ainring districts of Hammerau, Au and Hagenau. The well delivers between 160,000 and 180,000 m3 high quality drinking water which is continuously monitored by an external laboratory.
