1975 - Start of the era Max Aicher
Mid of the seventies the „Annahütte“ had about 400 employees. Because of the worldwide recession within the steel industry, all attempts of Walter Zeller to start with necessary steps regarding the modernization of the plant areal. Another bankruptcy could not be prevented.
In November 1975 a buyer was found. The complete works is purchased by Diplom-Ingenieur Max Aicher and is renamed in „Stahlwerk Annahütte Max Aicher GmbH & Co. KG“

1976
Accompanied by extensive rationalization sanctions the rolling mill starts up with the production of concrete steel. The manufacturing of welded wire mesh follows as another production area.

1977
The constructions of a works railway combined with several streets on the site of the plant provide a better infrastructure.

1982
The modernization of almost the whole rolling mill including a new walking beam furnace with a technical capacity of 45 to/h is completed. Two older grid welding machines are replaced by an automatic SCHLATTER-grid welding system.
For the first time the works, which was always a self-supplier, gets connected to the public power supply.

1983
The iron bending production starts in 1983.

1984
The product range gets extended by the manufacturing of threadbars and stressbars. The production of concrete steel is stopped. Two stretching units are put into production and the first finishing departments for anchor- and stressbars are built. A 200 tons Schenk-tensile machine for dynamic tests gets installed. A change within the plant from fuel oil to the environmentally friendly natural gas takes place. In the hydroelectric power plant a new generator is put into operation.

1986
In 1986 SAH applies for various patents for the stress-steel-production (water tempered, stretched and annealed) and for the first time threadbars with diameter 40 mm and 50 mm are produced.

450- Years-Celebration of steel processing in Hammerau since the foundation by Matthaeus Lang von Wellenburg, Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg.

1991
Start of the steel bar production. In the rolling mill a reconstruction takes place: the TRIO-blooming train is replaced by a HV-blooming train with 6 stands. Furthermore the steel bar finishing department starts producing. |

1993
The product range is extended by threadbars with diameter 63,5 mm as well as with anchors for Kali+Salz resp. for the coal mining. The opening of the threadbar-finishing department for diameters of 40 – 63,5 mm follows. |

1996
The production of accessories for threadbars and stressbars starts. |
1997
The manufacturing of welded wire mesh is transfered to the sister company at Parndorf / Austria. Work in the rolling mill is changed into a 2-shift-system.
The dam of the company owned hydroelectric power plant gets redeveloped. |

1999
To increase the technical efficiency, the walking beam furnace gets improved.
The mid size mill is modernized by replacement of two stands.
The finishing department for the production of bright steel can be put into operation. |

First own distribution site in the USA is established - SAS Stressteel Inc., Fairfield, New Jersey. |

Replacement of existing quality management system QS 9000/VDA 6.1 by new ISO TS 16949:2002 Standard. |

2004
On the occasion of the 70th birthday of Dipl.-Ing. Max Aicher, owner of the plant, a new SAH logo was revealed at the entrance of the plant.
New finishing department starts production for UK-coal mining industry.
Acquisition of a new tensile testing machine with a load up to 500t. |

2005
30-years-celebration of "Stahlwerk Annahütte Max Aicher GmbH & Co. KG".
Enlargement of thread bar production by diameter 75 mm. |

2006
Removing of the steam power station incl. the old brick chimney for expansion of steel bar finishing department.
Commissioning of second roll heat-type annealing furnace for specific heat treatment.
Completion of storage building for accessories. |

2007
Expansion of sales and distribution in the USA by acquisition of AVAR Construction Inc. in California.
Completion of hall extension for bright steel as well as commissioning of further crack testing equipment with additional ultrasonic inspection.
The production of the mill exceeds over 200.000 tons. |

2008
For getting stronger on the market of thread bars "SAS Unetra Systems" at Spain was aquired and also a participation on the founded "Accessoires de Construction SAS" at France.
Start of the accessory production at the new plant in Slovacia.
The new halls for thread bar production and accessories products are ready.

Building of a new device and the start of the production of Double Corrosion Protected Anchors (DCP).
